BrewDog MD James Brown To Speak at MAD//Fest

07 May, 2021

BrewDog's MD, James Brown, will take to the stage and give a keynote on how it has become a rebel with a cause and grown into a huge cult brand.

In a keynote at MAD//Fest London on 7-8 July at The Old Truman Brewery Car Park, James Brown, MD of BrewDog, will give key insights its meteoric rise and the marketing stunts that have become as famous as the beer they produce.

Founded in 2007 by James Watt & Martin Dickie BrewDog, the brewer of IPAs, ales, and lagers, as well as owner of many bars and pubs, has always had a penchant for breaking the rules with its marketing, helping it achieve legendary and cult status in and outside of the industry. It has managed to pull off an irreverent challenger brand positioning every time with this 'attitude' embedded even in the names some of its famous beers - Barnard Castle Eye Test, Nanny State, Dead Pony Club, and Elvis Juice to name four.

James Brown will give a keynote about the BrewDog journey - from being at the inception of and helping instigate the craft brewing revolution through to creating a highly engaged community of BrewDog Punks and their impending IPO.

“Known for high-risk PR and iconic marketing activations alongside their wonderful craft beers, BrewDog is a true innovator brand. At a time when they are expanding globally and really addressing issues around sustainability, we can't wait to host James Brown and hear more about what makes BrewDog such a provocative and creative company ,” said Luke Wilcox, MAD//Fest London’s Director of Content.

James joins a stellar list of speakers, drawn from the likes of Bloom & Wild, One Fine Stay, Diageo, Gymshark, Reebok, Monzo, and many other great brands, who will be tackling MAD//Fest London’s 2021 theme, ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ Held place across 4 stages, the content programme also includes live £20k innovation challenges from brands including M&S, Pizza Hut, Nomad Foods and Reckitt Benckiser

Over 4,000 marketers are expected to attend MAD//Fest London, which is the first ever major UK marketing festival to take place outside rather than in a traditional venue. MAD//Fest London is also the first industry event of 2021 to take place in hybrid form, meaning visitors can attend the event in-person or via MAD//Fest London’s virtual platform.
