Podcast Pick of the Week: Ten Words by Jeremy Waite, IBM iX

By Dan Brain, Co-founder + Content Director, MAD//Fest London 28 Jun 2019

Jeremy Waite Ten Words Podcast.

Jeremy is one smart cookie and a modern day tech industry legend. Whether it’s his prolific blogs, Ten Words book or podcast by the same name, Jeremy is someone who makes sense of complex technology by looking at it through a cultural lens.

Whatever the medium, it’s difficult not to be enthused by Jeremy’s passion and intellectual curiosity.

Drawing on cultural references as diverse as superstar DJ Mark Ronson and marketing hustler Gary Vaynerchuk, Episode 31 focuses on taking things you love and building on them.

It’s a brief trip into the art of curation and walking the fine line between inspiration, impersonation and blatant theft.

What's this got to do with marketing?

Well, without wishing to be the spoiler, it’s getting harder and harder to stand out by offering up new and completely original ideas.

Legendary musicians like David Bowie and Bob Dylan have shown us what’s possible when you sample or remix existing ideas.

Whether it’s your career or marketing output, Jeremy’s podcast is all about DIY tactics and building on the things you love to carve out your own space in the place you want to be.

Jeremy will be making his MAD//Fest London debut on 13-14 Nov. Click here for the latest speaker line-up.
