We want to make you aware of a phishing scam currently circulating, where fraudulent emails are being sent that appear to come from us, offering “free tickets” to MAD//Fest London in July.

These emails are NOT from us 👇.

Please be advised:

  • This is a phishing scam
  • We haven't been victim of a data breach and these scammers are not using our official attendee lists or systems, they're targeting marketing professionals in mass emails in the hope that a few people click through
  • We will NEVER send ticket offers from messaging-service@post.xero.com, these scams are mostly using the Xero messaging service, we do not use the Xero messaging service. All legitimate ticket offers will come from our domain madfestlondon.com
  • We never ask for attendees to login via Meta, Google or any other platform / provide usernames and passwords in order to get tickets for the event.
  • Do not click on any links or download any attachments from these messages.
  • Do not provide any personal or payment information in response. If you have immediately change your password and set up two-factor authentication for any details you've shared. At the moment the phishing scam appears to be targeting Meta/Google details/passwords.

Again, our official communications will only come from verified email addresses associated with our domain (@madfestlondon.com), and any legitimate ticket offers will always:

  • Be sent from info@madfestlondon.com and will not come from any xero related address
  • Clearly communicated through our official channels
  • Or by personal emails from MAD//Fest employees who have @madfestlondon.com email addresses.

If you have received one of these suspicious emails, we recommend:

  • Reporting it as phishing/spam in your email provider or to report@phishing.gov.uk the UK govt service designed to investigate phishing attempts
  • If you have provided any personal data to any phishing sites impersonating us, we advise you to change your passwords immediately.
  • Reporting the email will usually delete it from your email client, but if not delete the email
  • If you are in any doubt as to whether or not an email you've received is legitimate you can always check with our team by forwarding it to info@madfestlondon.com

Your security is extremely important to us, and we are working with the National Cyber Security Centre to report and shut down this activity.

Thank you for your vigilance and continued support.
