MAD//Fest x Dishoom: Pop-Up Café To Celebrate The Return Of Restaurants And Live Events

07 May, 2021

Much-loved restaurant Dishoom will bring a taste of Bombay to MAD//Fest London on 7-8 July with a pop-up café to feed hungry festival attendees at London’s Old Truman Brewery.

The collaboration will see Dishoom - the restaurant that pays homage to Bombay’s Irani cafés - serve complimentary lunches from a pop-up café that will be open for just two days at MAD//Fest London. Serving a menu of Bombay comfort food and chai, the Dishoom MAD//Fest London café is designed to celebrate the return of restaurants and live events by giving attendees a memorable dining experience

Spanning 8 restaurants across the UK, a newly-launched delivery service, and the online Dishoom Store where fans can shop for gifts, make-at-home meal kits and the best-selling ‘From Bombay With Love’ cookery book, Dishoom is a firm media industry favourite renowned for its unique experience, imaginative storytelling and much-loved Bombay comfort food.

Held outdoors at The Old Truman Brewery, over 4,000 VIP attendees are expected to attend MAD//Fest London, this summer’s only major marketing festival to take place as an in-person physical event.

Billed as the ‘marketing and media industry’s reunion shindig’, other MAD//Fest London highlights include ‘The Channel Factory Arms: A MAD//Fest London Pub’, a Campari Bar, 4 distinctive theatres where attendees can discover the latest trends in creativity, tech and media and a series innovation challenges in which future disruptors can pitch brands such as M&S, AB InBev and Reckitt for £20k pilots. Speakers include BrewDog MD James Brown, Cadbury’s Marketing Director Benazir Barlet-Batada, Gymshark Chief Brand Officer Noel Mack and adland legends Vicki Maguire, Sir Martin Sorrell and Rory Sutherland.

“Dishoom reinvigorated the Indian food dining scene and made every element of visiting a restaurant part of the experience, from drinking chai outside in the queue to its distinctive menu and delicious cocktails. As an industry festival that values experience, good food and unstuffy networking, we’re hugely excited to celebrate the return of restaurants and live events by collaborating with Dishoom,” said Dan Brain, MAD//Fest London’s Co-founder.

Dishoom's founder Shamil Thakrar will be speaking at MAD//Fest in July and a limited number of early bird tickets are available here.

Please donate to the The British Asian Trust 'Oxygen for India Emergency Appeal' which is rapidly deploying urgent oxygen supplies to the hospitals and patients that need them most. Dishoom has created a fundraising page to support their life-saving work.
