Biden And Obama’s Digital Strategist To Speak At MAD//Anywhere
5 February 2021
Teddy Goff – the digital architect of President Joe Biden’s successful 2020 US election campaign – is the latest speaker to confirm for MAD//Anywhere on 10 Feb.
Goff, who is a co-founded Precision Strategies alongside Stephanie Cutter, will share his experiences of executing a winning strategy in the volatile digital space where elections are now fought. The session will focus on what brands and social media platforms can learn from the 2020 US election, how the Biden campaign resonated with the voters and the steps we must all take to combat fake news.
Prior to founding Precision, Gofff served as digital director for President Obama’s re-election campaign. Under the stewardship of Goff, ‘Obama for America’ raised more than $690 million online, registered more than a million voters online, and built Facebook and Twitter followings of more than 45 and 33 million people respectively. TIME described Goff’s work as “redefining the limits of viral politics”.
The session will take place during a MAD//Anywhere USA content showcase featuring industry leaders including Futurist Tom Goodwin, AB InBev Head of Experiential Ronnie Yoked and Mars Global Partnerships Director Heather Stuckey.
“The intense, ruthless and arguably under regulated landscape of political social media is a fascinating learning ground for strategists and brands alike. At this exciting moment for the US, we’re thrilled to be airing Teddy’s take on the evolving digital and cultural landscape in which we live,” said Dan Brain, MAD//Fest’s Co-founder and Content Director.
“Likewise, we can’t wait to give our American colleagues a taste of the MAD experience with a stream dedicated to understanding what the winds of change in the US means for brands, marketing and wider society.”
Over 2,000 people are now signed up to attend MAD//Anywhere, which is MAD//Fest’s second global virtual event under the MAD//Anywhere brand.
Other speakers who will be tackling the ‘Forward’ theme include Eve Sleep CMO-turned CEO Cheryl Calverley, Confused.com CMO Samuel Day, O2 CMO Nina Bibby, Purplebricks CMO Ben Carter, Yorkshire Tea Marketing Director Dom Dwight and Ben & Jerry’s Head of Activism and Social Mission Rebecca Baron.
