For Lucy, a manager pushing her out of her comfort zone into a commercial role was the turning point for her career. They saw something in her that she hadn’t, and they turned out to be right.

To bring out the best in people, it’s important to recognise both your own as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Accepting that you don’t have all the answers is key, ask for help when it’s needed and don’t be shy to draw on the knowledge and experience of those around you.
