MAD//Fest was named the event industry’s top new conference at The Conference Awards 2020 during an online ceremony this week.

Judges praised the achievement by MAD//Fest’s small team, highlighting impressive growth and establishing the event as a distinctive global contender in the marketing calendar.

The ‘Best New Conference over 400 attendees’ category celebrates the best event launch of a large scale event across all sectors since 2018. Other category winners included George P Johnson, Clarion, Hyve and The Financial Times.

In 2019, MAD//Fest picked up ‘Best Networking Event’ at The Conference Awards, with judges highlighting MAD//Fest’s “off the scale original thinking”. The Conference Awards celebrate the industry’s top global conferences and exhibitions from commercial event organisers, agencies and not-for-profit organisations.

“It’s stating the obvious to say that 2020 has been a testing year for the event industry. But as we prepare to bring MAD//Fest London back to Shoreditch this July, it’s inspiring to see MAD//Fest’s achievements commended alongside the industry’s juggernauts,” said Dan Brain, MAD//Fest London’s Co-founder and Content Director.

“MAD//Fest continues to catch the eye of the event industry. Following our bold, innovative and creative virtual event launches in 2020 such as the 99//Club Festival with New Digital Age, MAD//Fest x DMEXCO and MAD//Anywhere, we’re hugely excited about the long-awaiting return of face-to-face events. Combining immersive physical events and digital provides an opportunity to create a truly hybrid MAD//Fest on 7-8 July 2021 that can be enjoyed live in London or online anywhere else in the world,” added Ian Houghton, MAD//Fest’s Co-founder and Commercial Director.

“Thanks to all the sponsors, speakers and attendees who continue to get behind MAD//Fest and make incredible events happen!”
