No Guts, No Glory: MAD//Fest London 2022 Theme Announced - Call For Papers Now Open
22 October 2021
'No guts, no glory' had been announced as the theme of MAD//Fest London 2022 at The Old Truman Brewery on 5-7 July.
The theme has been chosen to highlight the big and bold decisions that marketers must make during a period of intense and accelerated disruption. The programme will focus on finding opportunity in disruption, using creativity and innovation for competitive advantage, emerging trends, getting under the skin of high impact work and the art of calculated risk taking.
MAD//Fest will feature over 180 speakers from major brands, challengers and agencies across five topic-themed stages. For the first time, MAD//Fest London will include a third day of masterclasses led by the industry's most prominent leaders, brand hacks, big name DJs, bars and BBQs.
"Whether you're a major brand, challenger or agency, you've got big decisions to make. Digital disruption, cultural change, behavioural shifts, different work patterns, economic uncertainty and exciting new innovation have thrown a spanner in the works, upset the hierarchy and created a new marketing arena defined by different rules, trends and competitors," said Dan Brain, MAD//Fest London's Co-founder.
"It really is a brave new world in 2022. What worked fantastically yesterday may fall flat today. So if you want the glory, you’ll need guts to get it.
"We're excited to have the opportunity to bring the marketing community together to explore the big issues, emerging trends and how and when to twist and take a risk.
"If you've got a great story you'd like to share with thousands of top brands and agencies, make sure you throw your hat in the ring and submit a session idea ASAP. Good luck!"
To date, MAD//Fest London is the only major festival in the 2021 marketing events calendar to have taken place in hybrid form. Over 8000 attendees visited MAD//Fest in 2021, split almost evenly between physical and online attendees. Speakers included Gymshark Chief Brand Officer Noel Mack, Havas Chief Creative Officer Vicki Maguire and S4 Capital Executive Chairman Sir Martin Sorrell, Facebook Global VP Nicola Mendelsohn CBE, Resi Founder Alex Depledge MBE and KFC CMO Jack Hinchliffe. All sessions are available on our YouTube channel.
You can submit a session idea for consideration until 17 December here.
